Q: What should I do if I need to get my prescriptions filled while in another area?
A: Make sure to take your prescription bottles (with labels) or your doctor's prescription with you. You should also take your Medicaid ID form with you. When you go to a drug store, ask them if they fill Medicaid prescriptions.

- If you forget your Medicaid ID, most drug stores can look up your ID if you give them your Social Security number.
- If you are refilling or replacing a prescription and the original prescription was filled at a chain store, it's usually easier if you go to a store from the same chain. If you can't go to the same chain store, most drug stores can still fill your prescription.
- If the drug store has problems filling your prescription, ask them if they called the Texas Medicaid Pharmacy Help Desk. They can call Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time.
