19.2.1 Clients Birth Through 20 Years of Age

For clients birth through 20 years of age, hearing aids and related services are authorized and reimbursed through PACT for children with suspected or identified permanent hearing loss.

PACT provides the following services:

Audiological assessment (a diagnostic assessment not a screening assessment)

Otological examination

Hearing aid evaluation

Ear mold

Second ear mold

Hearing aid fitting

First follow-up (30 days)

Second follow-up (60 days)

Refit and evaluation after repair

Auditory brainstem evoked response

CSHCN Services Program clients who are found by PACT providers to have a medically or surgically treatable hearing loss must be referred to programs, providers, or state agencies that are responsible for medical treatment and management.
