41.4 Benefits and Limitations41.4.1 Telemedicine ServicesRemote site providers are limited to physicians (doctors of medicine [MDs] and doctors of osteopathy [DOs]), physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), certified nurse-midwives (CNMs), federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), and RHCs. RHC telemedicine providers must submit their claims using the appropriate encounter code and modifiers. Modifier U7, AM, or SA is to be used in the first modifier field on the claim form together with the modifier GT in the second modifier field on the claim form.
