2.7.2.1
ECI services may be reimbursed when performed in a PPECC. When ECI services are rendered in a PPECC, the PPECC’s name and NPI must be placed on the professional claim, as well as the ECI provider’s NPI. ECI providers must also indicate outpatient hospital as the place of service on the claim.
The ECI provider and PPECC must have a written agreement for the provision of ECI services at the PPECC for each client. The written agreement must address responsibilities of both parties, and how the parties will coordinate related to the client’s plan of care. The written agreement must be maintained in the client’s medical record.
