• Include education of the client or caregiver regarding the in-home administration of TPN before administration initially begins.
• Occur at least once every month to monitor the client’s status and to provide ongoing education to the client or caregivers regarding the administration of TPN.For clients receiving PDN who also require TPN administration education, intermittent SN visits may be considered for separate prior authorization when:
• The PDN provider is not an RN appropriately trained in the administration of TPN, and the PDN provider is not able to perform the function.
