 Uncompensated Care (UC)

The Texas Healthcare Transformation and Quality Improvement Program 1115 Waiver allows for payments to hospitals and to certain physician practice groups to defray the uncompensated cost of medical services that are provided to Medicaid-eligible or uninsured individuals. To qualify for an uncompensated care (UC) payment for demonstration year one (federal fiscal year 2012), providers must submit a properly completed UC application to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).
