Changes to Wheeled Mobility Systems Benefit

Senate Bill (S.B.) 1804, 81st Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, and Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §354.1040, mandates that all wheeled mobility systems that are delivered on or after September 1, 2011, require the participation of a qualified rehabilitation professional (QRP) during the seating assessment for the system. The statute also requires that the QRP conduct the fitting of the system at the time of delivery. As a result of this mandate, benefit changes will be applied to mobility aids home health and Comprehensive Care Program (CCP) services.

This web page has been created to include information about the wheeled mobility systems benefit changes, changes to enrollment and prior authorization forms, and all articles that contain information about the new wheeled mobility systems benefit. Information will be added to the web page periodically as implementations occur.
