Ambulance Workshop

The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) knows how important ambulance services are to the citizens of Texas and is committed to ensuring ambulance providers’ claims are processed quickly and accurately. That’s what the Rolling Across Texas ambulance workshop is all about. This free workshop will reinforce ambulance providers’ understanding of the claims filing process and will focus on the problems ambulance providers most often encounter when filing claims for services rendered. This workshop will also detail hospital and nursing facilities' responsibilities and outline the steps required to obtain prior authorization for non-emergent ambulance transports.

The objectives of the Rolling Across Texas ambulance workshop are to:

  • Enhance provider understanding of ambulance billing procedures

Texas Medicaid: The Basics

Saving you time and money and increasing your productivity is what the Texas Medicaid: The Basics workshop is all about. The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) has revamped and updated the Success with Medicaid workshop to help you address the issues most important to you in an ever more demanding health-care environment.

This free workshop is targeted to providers with less than two years of experience in the Medicaid Program, as well as providers considering enrolling in the Medicaid Program, and is presented in two parts.

Part I The Basics will:

  • Increase your knowledge of the Texas Medicaid Program and the services it provides.
  • Educate you about Primary Care Case Management (PCCM).
  • Provide an update on the National Provider Identifier (NPI). (PCCM)
  • Review the various ways to verify client eligibility.
  • Review methods to efficiently submit and track claims and appeals.

Part II Enrollment will:

  • Review the guidelines for enrolling in the Texas Medicaid Program, THSteps Medical and Dental programs, and the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program.
  • Review the process for completing the Texas Medicaid Enrollment Application using the new online tool available on the TMHP website.
  • Medicaid Managed Care and Primary Care Case Management
  • Review the process of enrolling as a primary care provider in the PCCM program.
  • Review the process for updating provider information with TMHP.

The The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is committed to assisting physicians and their staff in remaining up-to-date on polices and procedures to ensure successful claims submission and reimbursement. This free workshop, presented by the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), will reinforce THSteps providers’ understanding of all components of the THSteps medical checkup. Possible solutions to problems THSteps providers most often encounter when billing for medical checkup services will also be discussed.

The goals of the Caring for Young Texans THSteps Medical Checkup Workshop are to:

  • Enhance providers’ understanding of the THSteps medical checkup and its components.
  • Discuss how to properly file a claim and provide information about additional claims filing training sessions.
  • Educate providers on services outside of THSteps.
  • Provide an update on the National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Detail exciting new THSteps resources for providers.

Family Planning Titles V, X, XX & Title XIX

The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) knows how important family planning services are to the people of Texas and is committed to ensuring family planning providers’ claims are processed quickly and accurately. That's what the Family Planning Workshopsare all about. These free workshops will review covered family planning services, give an overview of the claims filing process, and discuss the billing problems family planning providers most often encounter.

These workshops are provided in two sessions: a morning session for Titles V, X, and XX and an afternoon session for Title XIX. Please indicate on your workshop registration if you will attend both or the morning or afternoon session.

The goals of the Family Planning Workshops are to:

Home Health/DME Workshop

TMHP knows how important Home Health services are to the people of Texas and is committed to ensuring Home Health provider’s claims are processed quickly and accurately. This free workshop will give providers an overview of the services available through the Home Health program such as skilled nursing visits and Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Services available through the Comprehensive Care Program (CCP) such as Personal Care Services (PCS) and Private Duty Nursing (PDN) will all be reviewed.

Long Term Care RUG Workshop for Community Waiver Program

On September 1, 2008, we’re changing the way providers assess participants in the Medicaid Community Waiver Program. On this date, Long Term Care will transition from the Texas Index for Level of Effort (TILE) reimbursement methodology to using Resource Utilization Groups (RUGs) for reimbursement of Medicaid services. To prepare you for this transition, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is presenting the Long Term Care RUG Workshop for Community Waiver Programs. This free workshop provides information regarding the assessment submission process for medical necessity determination and reimbursement, as well as the transition guidelines for the change from TILEs to RUGs.

The goals of this workshop are to:

  • Provide an overview of the TILEs to RUGs transition
  • Highlight the new rules and various changes
  • Inform providers on how TILE scores will transition to RUG values
  • Discuss the benefits of using the Long Term Care Online Portal
  • Educate Community Waiver providers on their roles and responsibilities

Long Term Care TexMedConnect Workshop

On November 12, 2007, TMHP introduced a new web-based application, TexMedConnect that allows Long Term Care (LTC) providers to submit their claims electronically using their National Provider Identifier (NPI). TexMedConnect enables faster processing of claims for all LTC services.

TMHP is committed to ensuring that LTC providers are equipped to use this new tool with minimal impact to their business. That’s why TMHP is offering the free LTC TexMedConnect Workshop. This workshop is designed for electronic billers, but paper billers will benefit as well.

Attendees of this workshop will learn how to navigate the TexMedConnect application and how to use their NPI and related data to utilize these important functions:

Acute Care Provider TexMedConnect Workshop

In August 2007, TMHP introduced TexMedConnect, a new and improved web-based claims filing application located on the TMHP website (www.tmhp.com). Only those providers who have attested their NPI are able to access TexMedConnect.

TexMedConnect uses current technology to speed the submittal of claims and other transactions for the following services:

  • Medical services
  • Vision services
  • Dental services
  • Family Planning services
  • Inpatient and outpatient services

TMHP is committed to helping you learn how to use TexMedConnect with minimal impact to your practice. Workshop attendees will learn how to navigate through the TMHP website and how to use their NPI and related data to use the following important website functions:

  • Website security
  • Eligibility verification
  • Claims submission and appeals
  • Claims status inquiry
  • Electronic Remittance and Status reports

Provider Workflow Webinar / Q & A Conference Calls - Registration Now Open

Information posted November 7, 2008: TMHP will implement Long Term Care (LTC) Online Portal enhancements for a new Provider Workflow effective November 14, 2008. Provider Workflow webinars and educational materials are available separately for Nursing Facility providers and Community Waivers providers. The question-and-answer (Q&A) webinar / conference calls are available to providers to address any questions regarding the Provider Workflow. Providers are expected to have read the educational materials prior to attending a webinar Q&A session. The sessions are not a training delivery but rather an opportunity for providers to ask questions based on reading the educational materials.

This is a Q & A session only. Questions can be submitted ahead of time to workshopquestions@tmhp.com or during the workshop using webinar capabilities.
