Update to ‘Members Sought for the Drug Utilization Review Board’

This is an update to the article titled, “Members Sought for the Drug Utilization Review Board,” which was published on the TMHP website on September 14, 2020. The update is that application submission deadline has been extended to 11:59 p.m., October 12, 2020.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will consider applicants' qualifications, background, and interest in serving on the board and will try to choose board members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants' ethnicity, gender, and geographic location.

More information for those interested in applying:

  • Review the application letter to find out who the board is seeking as representatives and if you qualify.
  • After reviewing the application letter, and verifying you meet the qualifications for at least one category, click on the application to apply to be on the board.
  • Applicants must complete and submit Form 1349, the Drug Utilization Review Board Annual Disclosure.

A Drug Utilization Review Board member must regularly participate in board meetings and other meetings as needed. Board meetings are held about once every three to four months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer.

Note: To the extent permitted by the current state budget, a member of the Drug Utilization Review Board may be repaid for their travel expenses to and from meetings if funds are available and in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.
