Providers Reminded to Keep Their NPIs Active
Information posted October 3, 2008: Reminder: Providers must keep their National Provider Identifiers (NPIs) active and their National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) records updated. Click on the title for more information.

Effective April 25, 2008, TMHP began verifying the NPIs that were provided during attestation against NPPES to ensure that all attested NPIs are active.

TMHP will send a notification letter to all providers whose NPIs are listed with NPPES as inactive. Providers can access their NPPES account at https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov.to resolve their NPI status. Failure to correct issues identified by NPPES will result in an automatic deactivation of the NPI and the subsequent disenrollment of the TMHP Texas Provider Identifiers (TPIs) associated with the deactivated NPI.

For more information, call the NPI Enumerator at 1-800-465-3203.
