The Minimum Data Set (MDS) forms that were missed on the daily extraction process between April 12, 2009, and May 3, 2009, have been extracted and are available on the LTC Online Portal for providers to complete the Long Term Care Medicaid Information (LTCMI) section.
This information only applies to assessments that were missed in the daily extraction process between April 12, 2009, and May 3, 2009.
MDS assessments that were submitted to the State MDS database timely, but due to system failures caused them to be late, will be paid at the calculated Resource Utilization Group (RUG) rate. Due to LTC Online Portal edits, providers will be forced to enter a Purpose Code (PC) E in the LTCMI; however, for those assessments that were submitted timely, DADS will remove the PC E and pay at the calculated RUG rate. For these timely MDS Assessments, providers will have until May 30, 2009, to complete the associated LTCMI, and be paid the calculated RUG rate. Providers should use the R2b date as the PC E begin date, and R2b + 91 as the R2b end date.
For MDS assessments with an R2b that is not over 91 days, the LTCMI should be completed as usual.
A full validation of MDS assessments is being conducted to identify if other forms were missed in the extraction process prior to April 12, 2009. If any assessments are found missing, a full reconciliation is planned by TMHP and DADS. Providers should continue to monitor the LTC Online Portal for their assessments. The MDS form extraction process is running on a daily basis. For any questions regarding the MDS extraction process, please contact TMHP at 1-800-626-4117, Option 1.
