Members Sought for the Drug Utilization Review Board

If you’re interested in the statewide Drug Utilization Review Program for Medicaid, you may want to apply to be a member of the Drug Utilization Review Board. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner will appoint members to the board to serve a term expiring August 31, 2021, or August 31, 2022, unless otherwise noted. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., September 28.

HHSC will consider applicants' qualifications, background and interest in serving on the board and will try to choose board members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants' ethnicity, gender and geographic location.

  • Applicants must complete and submit Form 1349, the Drug Utilization Review Board Annual Disclosure.

A Drug Utilization Review Board member must regularly participate in board meetings and other meetings as needed. Board meetings are held about once every three to four months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. To the extent permitted by the current state budget, a member of the Drug Utilization Review Board may be repaid for their travel expenses to and from meetings if money is available and in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.
