REGISTER NOW: 2021 HHS Office of Disability Prevention for Children Statewide Virtual Conference

On Tuesdays in March beginning on the 9th, the 2021 HHS Office of Disability Prevention for Children Statewide Virtual Conference will host a series of free webinars to highlight key topics on preventing intellectual and developmental disabilities in children.

Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including community-based organizations, government, health-care professionals, educators, families, caregivers, and others to discuss and learn about strategies for implementing positive change in the lives of children and families across Texas.

Keynote Speakers

  • Manda Hall, MD, serves as associate commissioner of community health improvement at the Texas Department of State Health Services. 
  • Kathleen T. Mitchell, MHS, LCADC, serves as vice president and international spokesperson for the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
  • Dr. Karyn Harvey, has worked as a clinician in the field of intellectual disabilities for over 25 years. She is also a psychologist, author, trainer and speaker.
  • Michelle Alletto, MBA, serves as chief program and services officer at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
  • Joe Perez, MBA, serves as interim deputy executive commissioner of Health, Developmental & Independence Services at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
