November 2021 EVV Portal and Training Updates

Last updated on

On November 11, 2021, TMHP made updates to the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Portal to align with EVV policy updates and for EVV compliance monitoring purposes. The updates were made to the EVV Usage Report, Reason Code Usage and Free Text Report and Clock In/Clock Out Usage Report.

  • EVV Usage Report results can now be more specific by selecting the new optional search criteria, “Service Delivery Option” and “EVV Implementation Group,” which will also appear on the reports.
    • Service Delivery Option:
      • All: (EVV Portal default option)
      • Agency: program services are managed by a program provider
      • CDS: services are self-managed
    • EVV Implementation Group:
      • State-Required PCS: required to use EVV in 2016 or earlier
      • Cures Act PCS (2021): required to use EVV starting January 1, 2021
      • All: (EVV Portal default option)
  • The new FMSA check box creates an FMSA version of the EVV Usage Report when checked. This version’s EVV Usage Score will equal the rejected EVV visit transaction score.
  • The following terms have been updated in the reports:
    • “Attendant” is now “Service Provider”
    • “GUI” is now “Manual”
    • “Visit Transactions” is now “Electronic Visit Transactions”
  • As a result of the Texas Provider Identifier (TPI) number termination, TPIs have been removed.

TMHP Learning Management System (LMS) computer-based training (CBT) modules and jobs aids now include the EVV Portal updates. EVV Portal users are strongly encouraged to review the training materials.

  • Updated CBT modules:
    • TMHP Module 5, Part 3: EVV Portal Standard Reports
  • Updated job aids:
    • Using the EVV Portal: EVV Usage Report
    • Using the EVV Portal: EVV Reason Code Usage and Free Text Report
