Direct Care Careers Enhancements

Last updated on

In August 2023, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) launched Direct Care Careers, an optional, online portal that will connect potential employees with employers delivering home and community-based services through the state plan and HCBS authorities (1915(c), 1915(i), 1915(j), and 1115). To provide the best user experience possible, HHSC is excited to announce the following enhancements and improvements to the platform:

All Users (Employers and Candidates)

  • As an added security measure, users are now automatically logged off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • A Notification Preferences tab has been added to user profiles. Users can select the frequency with which they receive specific notifications from the site.
  • All users can now easily print job posts.
  • Additional trainings entered into candidate profiles are now included on resumes for employers to view.

Candidates

  • Candidates will now see a profile progress meter on their My Workspace page.

Employers / Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Employers

  • All employers are now notified to renew their job post after 90 days to ensure job posts are still relevant and available.

CDS Employers

  • All CDS Employers now have a CDS Employer ID assigned to their profile on their CDS Employer Information tab.
