Changes to CDS EVV Usage Review Notifications

Effective immediately, payers will communicate directly with Consumer Directed Services (CDS) employers on EVV usage reviews. Financial management services agencies (FMSAs) will no longer be responsible for facilitating communication between payers and CDS employers on EVV compliance. This policy change will be added to the EVV Policy Handbook in a later revision.

This change is intended to streamline the EVV usage review process and ensure CDS employers receive information and requests directly from their payer. To assist with this process, payers may request FMSAs provide CDS employers’ contact information for payers to provide compliance notices.

FMSAs must help CDS employers, upon request, with questions or inquiries about EVV usage compliance requirements. FMSAs should update their internal procedures accordingly.
