Services Affected for LTC Texas Medicaid IDs Starting With “9”

Last updated on

The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is working to resolve an issue affecting some newly issued long-term care (LTC) Texas Medicaid IDs that begin with “9.” Clients who were assigned one of the affected Medicaid IDs will receive a new Medicaid ID and card once the issue is resolved. The new Medicaid IDs will begin with “8.” It is advised not to submit new LTC assessment forms or claims for clients with a Medicaid ID starting with a “9” due to possible rework.

Providers should use the TexMedConnect Medicaid Eligibility Service Authorization Verification (MESAV) to verify whether impacted clients have received a new Medicaid ID. Once a client’s new Medicaid ID is available, providers must ensure that their records reflect the correct Medicaid ID that begins with “8.”

Providers should check the “Recent News” section of the TMHP website for related communications and instructions. TMHP will publish a follow-up article when the issue is resolved.

If providers experience issues when submitting LTC forms and claims with the affected Medicaid IDs, call the TMHP LTC Help Desk at 800-626-4117.
