SSN Required for Occupational License

Last updated on

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requires all applicants for a nursing facility administrator license, nurse aide certificate, and medication aide permit to provide a valid Social Security Number (SSN).

This does not prohibit any school, Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) or Medication Aide school from providing training to individuals without an SSN. However, it is recommended that a school disclose to students that meeting all training requirements for any of these license types will not result in a license unless they obtain an SSN.
