Coming Soon - SEMARC ‘Refresh’ Update Guidance

Last updated on

What’s changing?

Beginning on November 13th, the Search Engine for Multi-Agency Reportable Conduct (SEMARC) refresh functionality will be available every three hours instead of every 24 hours. Users can now check for available results more frequently, reducing wait times for searches that do not require manual DFPS review. Searches requiring manual review will continue to follow standard DFPS processing timelines.

What do I need to do differently?

  • Wait at least three hours after submitting your search before selecting the Refresh link.
  • Select Refresh to check for updated results.

If the results are Completed, no further action is needed.

If the results are still Pending, check the Last Date Modified field on the Search History page. Wait at least three hours from the date and time shown before clicking the Refresh hyperlink.

  • You may continue refreshing every three hours until your search results are complete.

Note: When submitting a search, provide all available information about the subject, especially the Social Security Number (SSN), to help improve search accuracy and reduce delays.

More details about the Refresh functionality are available in the SEMARC User Guide.
