Revalidation Due Date Extensions Beginning June 16, 2026

Last updated on

Beginning June 16, 2026, a provider’s revalidation due date will be extended by 60 calendar days if they meet the following extension criteria:

  • The provider’s current revalidation due date is on or after June 16, 2026.
  • The provider’s revalidation application was submitted before their revalidation due date, and it is now an in-flight application.

Note: “In-flight” applications refer to applications that providers have submitted through the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) but that have not yet been approved. This does not include applications that are in “Draft” status.

Reminder: Providers should begin the revalidation process as early as 180 days before their revalidation due date and should respond to deficiencies in a timely manner to allow sufficient time to complete the process and maintain their enrollment status.

The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is expecting a high volume of applications and encourages providers to begin the revalidation process as soon as possible. TMHP acknowledges that providers are receiving several revalidation notices. To avoid further notices, providers should complete their applications as soon as possible.

Important: Providers that do not have a completed revalidation application or an in-flight application by the day before their revalidation due date will be disenrolled from all Texas state health care programs and claims and prior authorization requests will be denied. Providers that have been disenrolled will need to submit a reenrollment application through PEMS.

Check PEMS for the Revalidation Due Date

PEMS will check daily for any providers that are due for revalidation the following calendar day. If a provider has not completed revalidation and meets the extension criteria, PEMS will automatically extend their current revalidation due date by 60 calendar days.

Revalidation due date extensions will be reflected in PEMS on the day of their original due date. Providers can verify their extension date in the Revalidation Due Dates column on the Provider Information page in PEMS. Providers will also receive an email notification and a message on their TMHP message dashboard confirming their new revalidation due date.

Important: A provider’s revalidation is not complete until their revalidation request is in “Closed-Enrolled” status. Submitting the revalidation request is the first step of the process. The revalidation request must then go through the review process and be approved by TMHP.

Verify Information to Avoid Deficiencies

On average, revalidation applications with deficiencies take 100 days longer to complete than those without deficiencies. Providers should verify that their information is accurate and complete to ensure quicker processing.

Providers have 165 cumulative business days to address all deficiencies on their revalidation application. If a provider's revalidation application has outstanding deficiencies that are more than the total number of calendar days allowed, then the revalidation application will be closed, and the provider must create a new request.
