Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to Medicaid members who are enrolled in their MCO. Administrative procedures, such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims and encounter data filing, may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the member’s specific MCO for details.

This is a correction to the article titled “Texas Health Steps Dental Preventive Benefits to Change September 1, 2023,” which was published on this website on July 14, 2023.

The article stated that Texas Health Steps dental group providers would no longer be reimbursed for procedure code D1208, topical application of fluoride, for services rendered in the office setting. Texas Health Steps dental group providers may continue to be reimbursed for procedure code D1208.
