Beginning Today: New Inactivity Time Limit for LTC Online Portal Users

Last updated on

Beginning today, December 10, 2020, the Long-Term Care (LTC) Online Portal will automatically log users out of their LTC Online Portal session after 30 minutes of inactivity to comply with Health and Human Services (HHS) Information Technology (IT) Security Policies. Updates made in the LTC Online Portal will not be saved automatically at logout. Users should save updates regularly in order to avoid losing changes.

After 25 minutes of inactivity, a warning message is displayed informing the user that they will be logged out soon due to inactivity. The user has five minutes to acknowledge the message or they are logged out. Unsaved changes are lost if the user is logged out for inactivity. After being logged out, the user will need to log into the LTC Online Portal using their credentials at the login prompt to initiate a new session.

Before being logged out for inactivity, the user will see the following warning message:

"Your online session will end in 5 minutes due to inactivity. As a security precaution, if there is no additional activity in your online session, the session will end and you will be redirected to the Login page. If you are still working in your online session, choose OK to continue."
