The Medical Transportation Program arranges non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services for clients who are unable to get to their covered health care service appointments.

The Medical Transportation Program (MTP), under the direction of HHSC, arranges nonemergency medical transportation (NEMT) and travel-related services for eligible Medicaid, Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program, and Transportation for Indigent Cancer Patients (TICP) clients who have no other means of transportation to their covered health care services.

Under contract with HHSC, TMHP is responsible for enrolling certain MTP providers and for processing their claims.

Enrollment Information

If you are interested in becoming an MTP provider, you can enroll through the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS). MTP providers may access PEMS to enroll, reenroll, and revalidate with HHSC.
