CHIP Copayments Waived Through February 28, 2021, if Public Health Emergency is Extended

Last updated on

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, pre-certification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client's specific MCO for details.

As part of its continued response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will waive Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) co-payments through February 28, 2021. The waiver applies to medical office visit co-payments only.
