Type of Assistance and Description Added to Medicaid Client Portal, Effective November 12, 2021

Last updated on

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, pre-certification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client's specific MCO for details.

Effective November 12, 2021, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) has added Type of Assistance (TOA) and Description to the Medicaid Client Portal (MCP) – Client Eligibility display.

The Medicaid Client Portal Job Aid for Providers has been updated with these changes and will be available on the TMHP Learning Management System (LMS).

Users must have a username and password to access videos in the LMS. To obtain a username and password, click the “Don’t have an account? Sign up here” link on the LMS homepage, and complete the new user registration.
