TPI Number Removed From All Valid Paper Remittance and Status (R&S) Reports, Effective December 13, 2021

Last updated on

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, pre-certification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client's specific MCO for details.

Beginning December 13, 2021, the Texas Provider Identifier (TPI) number will be removed from all Remittance and Status (R&S) reports, except for the Medicaid Medical Transportation Program (MTP) R&S reports. The R&S reports listed below will continue to display the provider’s name and full address, National Provider Identifier/Atypical Provider Identifier (NPI/API), taxonomy, and benefit code, if applicable.

Remittance & Status Reports

  • Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Family Planning
  • Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program
  • Traditional Medicaid/STAR Medicaid (Managed Care Program) Combined
