Dental Policy Analyst Position

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medical and Dental Benefits Program is seeking to fill a Dental Policy Analyst position (posting number 510256).

The position is open to all applicants who have a license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact, or a license to practice as a dental hygienist in the state of Texas.

Work includes advanced complex dental and medical benefits policy analysis, development, and consultation. 

The position requires excellent writing skills and strong research skills, including experience conducting comprehensive literature reviews, the ability to synthesize findings, and the ability to apply findings to medical and dental benefits for policy development. 

Familiarity with medical and dental vocabularies such as Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD), version 10 and Current Dental Terminology (CDT) is a plus.

In addition, the selected candidate will collaborate with HHSC staff and others, develop Medicaid materials, prepare policy updates, prepare other documents, and support other team members in the development of Medicaid medical and dental benefit policy.
