Coming Soon: PA on the Portal Modernization Effective October 10, 2022

Last updated on

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing, may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client's specific MCO for details.

Effective October 10, 2022, a new look for PA on the Portal will be implemented by the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP). The changes are minimal, but will be an improvement for providers who are submitting, updating, and viewing prior authorization requests.

PA on the Portal computer-based training (CBT) will be available early October 2022.

The updated training will be available on the TMHP Learning Management System (LMS).
