Update to CSHCN Services Program Provider Manual for Hearing Aid Services Prior Authorization Language

Beginning May 1, 2023, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) will update the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program Provider Manual, section 20.2.3.5 “Limitations” to add prior authorization language.

Additional hearing checks may be reimbursed within a period of six months after a second revisit. Providers must submit a prior authorization request and documentation of medical necessity for the additional hearing aid checks.
