Alternative Device Returns for EVV Users Onboarding with HHAeXchange

As per section 4700 EVV System Transfer in the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Policy Handbook, after the Oct. 1 Go-Live date with the new state EVV system, HHAeXchange, all alternative devices supplied by the provider’s current EVV vendor must be collected and returned in accordance with the requirements of the EVV vendor that shipped them to the provider.

Program providers, financial management services agencies (FMSAs), Consumer Directed Services (CDS) employers, and Medicaid recipients will not incur any expenses related to the return of alternative device(s).

For information on how to return alternative devices, providers should contact their current EVV Vendor. 

Note: Program providers and FMSAs continuing as PSOs with DataLogic/Vesta or First Data/AuthentiCare do not need to return alternatives devices.
