Changes to the CoCM Attestation Form Process Delayed

Last updated on

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to Medicaid members who are enrolled in their MCO. Administrative procedures, such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims and encounter data filing, may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the member’s specific MCO for details.

This is an update to the articles titled “TMPPM Update for Attestation Form for Collaborative Care Model to Be Submitted in PEMS Effective February 1, 2024,” “Certain Provider Types to Complete CoCM Attestation” and “Attestation Process to Update on February 1, 2024,” which were published on this website on December 22, 2023, and December 29, 2023.

The process changes for providers to submit the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) attestation form in the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) and for enrolled providers to attest their CoCM status in PEMS have been put on hold. The deployment of these changes will occur at a later date.

The current process will remain the same until further notice. Providers must complete the CoCM attestation form at the start of every new episode of care for each person receiving CoCM services to ensure adherence to the CoCM core principles and the specific functional requirements of the model. The CoCM attestation form must be maintained in the medical record of each person receiving CoCM services and made available to Texas Medicaid or its designee upon request.

The CoCM attestation form for Texas Medicaid is available on the Forms web page of the TMHP website under the Resources menu.

Providers will be notified in a future article of the new deployment schedule.
