Last updated on

The following is a clarification to the article titled, “Claims to Be Reprocessed to Align with Grouper Versions Effective February 16, 2024.” Effective February 16, 2024, due to a change in the Grouper Plus Content Services software, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) and the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Services Program are reprocessing all claims with discharge dates on or after April 1, 2023, to align with the existing All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (APR-DRG) Grouper 40 and 41 settings as listed below:

  • Effective for dates of discharge on or after April 1, 2023, inpatient claims are being reprocessed in the APR-DRG system using Grouper version 38 logic mapped to ICD-10-CM/PCS (HAC) version 40.1. Reimbursements are made using the Grouper 38 RW statistics table.
  • Effective for dates of discharge on or after September 1, 2023, inpatient claims are being reprocessed in the APR-DRG system using Grouper version 40 logic mapped to ICD-10-CM/PCS (HAC) version 40.1. Reimbursements are made using the Grouper 40 RW statistics table.
  • Effective for dates of discharge on or after October 1, 2023, inpatient claims are being reprocessed in the APR-DRG system using Grouper version 40 logic mapped to ICD-10-CM/PCS (HAC) version 41. Reimbursements are made using the Grouper 40 RW statistics table.

Note: Previously announced Grouper settings remain unchanged. Claims had to be reprocessed to capture the APR-DRG settings based on the above discharge dates.
