ORP Enrollment Verifications Available Through the TMHP Contact Center

Last updated on

Effective February 2, 2025, the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) has implemented a simplified process for providers who need to complete ordering, referring, or prescribing (ORP) provider enrollment verifications through the TMHP Contact Center. Providers will be limited to ten practice location inquiries per call to the TMHP Contact Center for the provider enrollment (PE) queue.

Information Required of Providers

Providers can complete the ORP enrollment verification process by calling the TMHP Contact Center at 800-925-9126 and selecting option 3 for the PE queue. Callers should say, “I need to verify enrollment for an ORP,” when speaking to the Contact Center agent to indicate the type of enrollment assistance that is needed.

The following information must be provided to the Contact Center:

  • The National Provider Identifier (NPI) of the ORP provider
  • The name of the ORP provider

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to Medicaid members who are enrolled in their MCO. Administrative procedures, such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims and encounter data filing, may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the member’s specific MCO for details.
