HHSC has published Provider Letter 20-56 Assistance with Medicaid Applications and Redeterminations and Selecting a Managed Care Organization Related to PASRR.

This letter reminds nursing facilities of the importance of a resident attaining and maintaining Medicaid eligibility, as well as selecting a STAR+PLUS managed care organization for the purposes of Preadmission Screening and Resident Review specialized services. In addition, NFs are reminded that assisting residents with Medicaid eligibility determinations, Medicaid eligibility re-determinations, and MCO selection is allowed in most circumstances as medically-related social services.
