This course provides guidance that a registered nurse, a licensed vocational nurse, a social worker, and other staff members can use to develop a disaster plan. You will learn the basic steps of emergency preparedness (including risk assessment and plan development) and the eight core functions of a disaster plan. You will also learn the federal requirements for emergency preparedness. The course applies to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, intermediate care facilities for persons with an intellectual disability or related conditions, day activity and health services providers, PPECCs, and HCSSAs.
