COVID-19 Update to Telehealth Guidance on CLASS Professional and Specialized Therapies

Last updated on

In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, HHSC permitted behavioral support, dietary services, cognitive rehabilitation therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy provided in the CLASS program to be delivered using telehealth. These temporary COVID-19 flexibilities will end effective April 30, 2022. HHSC is issuing related interim guidance allowing the following on an ongoing basis:

  • Telehealth (synchronous audio-visual technology)
  • Certain activities by telephone (audio-only)

Information letter No. 2022-24 contains the interim guidance for these services. Access IL 22-08 HB4: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy Services Delivered by Synchronous Audio Visual for more information about physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology interim guidance.
