Demobilization of Emergency Staffing Resources for LTC Providers, State Operations Center

Last updated on

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is notifying long-term care (LTC) providers that the process of demobilizing state-supported emergency staffing, which began in February 2022, has been completed. This is due to all areas of the state experiencing a sustained decline in COVID-19 cases since January 26, 2022.

During the COVID-19 public health emergency, HHSC provided emergency staffing resources to assist LTC facilities with the burden associated with caring for residents due to COVID-19.

As of May 5, 2022, LTC providers may no longer request emergency staffing resources. Likewise, the State Operations Center operated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management is ceasing COVID-19 response operations on May 5, 2022.
