HTW Providers to Recertify in PEMS Starting November 1, 2025

Last updated on

Healthy Texas Women (HTW) providers that intend to provide or continue to provide HTW services in program year 2026 (January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026) must soon complete the annual recertification process. The recertification period for program year 2026 is from November 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025.

Providers in the HTW program that fail to recertify their HTW attestation by allowing it to expire will receive claim denials and will not be reimbursed for HTW services.

HTW providers must also verify or update demographic and account information for each location site. It is extremely important that the information listed in the Find a Doctor search tool available on the HTW website is kept up to date with the most current data for providers that deliver HTW services.

Providers can complete the HTW recertification process using the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS).

Accessing PEMS

PEMS is available online through the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) provider web page by clicking My Account.

For online help with the recertification process, HTW providers can access the PEMS Instructions for HTW Certification and Attestation on TMHP’s HTW web page.

Note: If providers select a new certification, they will get a new effective date, which may cause a gap in coverage dates.

For instructions on updating demographic information, providers can:

  1. Visit the PEMS Instructional Site.
  2. Select Maintenance.
  3. Select the appropriate answers for the program and provider type on the pages that follow.
  4. Select Maintenance - Practice Location - Demographics.

For more information, call the TMHP Contact Center at 800-925-9126 and select option 5.
