Register for STAP 101: Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program Information Session

Join the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for an informative session on the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP). STAP is a voucher program that offers financial assistance to individuals with qualifying disabilities, enabling them to obtain specialized equipment that makes telephone communication easier.

STAP is available to Texans who are blind or visually impaired, as well as individuals with speech impairments, cognitive disabilities, mobility challenges, and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

During this information session, HHSC will outline the program's requirements and application process. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions. This session is intended for potential applicants, their families, and professionals who support individuals with disabilities.

When: Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 7-8 p.m. CDT

The webinar will be presented in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English; CART (captioning). ASL/English interpretation will be provided.

Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to attendees that may be used for continuing education documentation. In addition, participants may earn 0.10 Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services General CEUs (accepted by the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters).
