Members Sought for the Perinatal Advisory Council

If you’re interested in issues related to the hospital designation program for levels of care for neonatal and maternal services, you may apply to be a member of the Perinatal Advisory Council.

The executive commissioner will appoint members to three-year terms ending August 31, 2029. If the council is not extended, the terms will end earlier on September 1, 2027 - when the council is abolished by law.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 30, 2026.

How to apply:

Council participation:

A council member must regularly take part in council meetings. Council meetings are held about once every three months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer.

Per 2026-27 General Appropriations Act, S.B.1, 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025; a council member may be repaid for their travel expenses to and from meetings in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.
