Register for In-Person Training on Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation: Prevention and Response in Intermediate Care Facilities

HHSC Long-Term Care Regulation Joint Training will host an in-person training in Galveston on July 7 covering abuse, neglect and exploitation (ANE) prevention and response. 

This one‑day, interactive training equips intermediate care facility staff with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize, respond to, document, and report ANE. Through discussion, hands‑on activities, scenarios and case examples, participants learn to identify vulnerabilities and risk factors, understand state and federal definitions of ANE, recognize early indicators, and apply effective prevention and response strategies.

Continuing education hours will be awarded for:

  • Registered Nurses: contact hours
  • Social Workers: 6.5 clock hours
  • Nursing Facility Administrators: 6.5 hours
  • Nurse Aides: 6.5 hours
