Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation: Prevention and Response in Intermediate Care Facilities In-Person Training

HHSC Long-Term Care Regulation will host an in-person training for Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) staff on the prevention and response to abuse, neglect and exploitation (ANE).

Through discussion, hands‑on activities, scenarios and case examples, participants will learn to identify the vulnerabilities and risk factors of ANE, understand state and federal definitions, recognize early indicators, and apply effective prevention and response strategies.

Continuing education hours will be awarded for:

  • Registered Nurses: 4 contact hours
  • Social Workers: 6.5 clock hours
  • Nursing Facility Administrators: 6.5 hours
  • Nurse Aides: 6.5 hours
