TMHP EDI Connectivity Change Rescheduled for September 1, 2026

Last updated on

This is an update to the article titled “TMHP EDI Connectivity Change Scheduled for August 2026.”

The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) EDI Connectivity change scheduled for August 1, 2026, has been moved to September 1, 2026.

This change gives batch submitters more time to prepare for the transition from the virtual private network (VPN) connectivity method to the new Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) method. Providers that fail to complete trading partner testing for their submitter identifications (IDs) may experience delays in claims reimbursement after SFTP implementation.

Trading Partner Testing

Mandatory trading partner testing will be available through August 31, 2026. During this time, batch submitters must confirm that the connection is functioning properly and migrate to the SFTP method.

If batch submitters don’t complete testing and migration to the production SFTP platform by August 31:

  • Batch submitters will lose their access to submit and retrieve Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions through the virtual private network (VPN) connectivity method.
  • Interruptions in exchanging EDI X12 claims, eligibility, claims status inquiry, electronic remittance advice, and any other EDI batch transactions may occur.

Note: This update will only apply to batch submitters. Real-time submitters will not be affected.

All VPN connectivity for batch submitters will be disabled on September 1, 2026. For questions about trader partner testing, email ediconnectivitysupport@tmhp.com.
