Members Sought for the Hospital Payment Advisory Committee

Last updated on

If you’re interested in Texas hospital financing policies and programs, including disproportionate share hospitals, uncompensated care, and directed payment programs you may want to apply to be a member of the Hospital Payment Advisory Committee (HPAC). The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) executive commissioner will appoint members to the committee to serve a term expiring December 31, 2032.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., October 1, 2026.

HHSC will consider the applicants' qualifications, background, and interest in serving on the committee and will choose committee members who represent the geographic diversity of all Texans.

How to apply:

Committee members must attend meetings regularly. Meetings are held about once every three months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. To the extent allowed by the current General Appropriations Act, an HPAC member may be reimbursed for his or her travel to and from meetings if funds are appropriated, available, and the member submits the request for travel reimbursement in accordance with the HHSC Travel Policy.

HHSC prefers that you submit your application electronically, but you may submit the application by email, mail or fax to the following addresses:
